Properties
Lithium is a silvery white, soft light metal. It is the lightest metal, and is the least dense and most malleable element. It has the highest melting and boiling point, as well as the highest specific heat capacity of the alkali metals.
Applications
Lithium and its compounds have several industrial applications, including heat-resistant glass and ceramics, lithium grease lubricants, fluxes for the production of iron, steel, and aliminium, lithium batteries and lithium ion batteries.
